How do you turn off the daytime running lights in a volvo?

I just bought a 2000 volvo V70, and even when the light switch is at 0 the daylights are on. Can you turn them off? Talk about inconvenient.

How to syphon gas from a 240 Volvo wagon?

I just bought a 99 Volvo V70 wagon. The hatch lift mechanism is barely holding. Unlike taditional hatchbacks, ther are no visible hydraulics. I assume there are small hydraulics under the interior panels? Springs?
